Eastcourt Independent School is a private day school for boys and girls from 4-11 years old. It has no religious affiliation – we value parents and pupils of all faiths and none. It is our intention that our school aims to work with parents to help children grow into caring, well-educated individuals who have a good understanding and strong commitment to develop personal qualities that help the society in which we live, an appreciation of others, and tolerance and compassion to build a positive future.

Reception Parent at Eastcourt

We are very grateful to Eastcourt school for the educational foundation they have provided to both of our children, particularly given some of the challenges they have experienced around maths skills. For this reason we were keen to offer our perspective of high level of teaching and support at the school. Our eldest daughter, who is now in year 7, was provided with dedicated maths support throughout her school years, particularly in year 6, where she was given additional 1-2-1 support and a specialised programme to help prepare her for the challenges of secondary school. This was incredibly successful and she is now in a higher maths set and able to maintain the pace of work, which was previously difficult for her. Both my daughters have very fond memories of their time at Eastcourt, the kindness of pupils and teachers as well as the openly supportive environment. The efforts of all teaching staff, firstly highlighting this area of difficulty and then working closely with us and our daughter really has made all of the difference and we believe that the confidence she has in maths today would not have been achievable without the team at Eastcourt school. Eastcourt is like a family that we will always value.

Parents of a child currently at Eastcourt and an Eastcourtonian

Personally, Eastcourt really prepared me for my secondary school, Brentwood (especially year 6). For example most of the curriculum from Year 6 was very similar to my Year 7 and I even found that some things I knew girls in my class didn’t know because I learnt them from Eastcourt. I did a filtration topic in chemistry and I ended up doing really well in that topic because I knew lots about it from yr 6. I was prepared for the homework because Year 7 was the equivalent to the amount in Year 6 at Eastcourt. So while other people struggled with homework I was prepared for the workload. Since reception Eastcourt managed to maintain a healthy competitive nature which helped me achieve some of the best results. When I was in Year 5 the number challenges were introduced for both problem solving and quick maths which really improved the maths skills of many of us in my class. I really enjoyed my time at Eastcourt and I had an amazing experience. I would really recommend future children to come here.'

Eastcourtonian (2014 – 2021)

I attended Eastcourt Independent School from ages 6 to 11, and I look back incredibly fondly on my time there. It was a place where I thrived both academically and extracurricularly, supported by the excellent teachers and spurred on by the wide range of activities the school offered, I took up public speaking and drama, joined the school netball team and played in tournaments, alongside studying. With the support of the teaching staff and Eastcourt's positive environment, I secured places at all the secondary schools I applied to, including scholarships for Chigwell and Forest School.
