We were delighted that Mr Syed came to speak in the junior assembly about his job as a pharmacist. He came armed with his box of 'tools' including his blood pressure monitor and empty antibiotic bottles. He amused the pupils by telling us how he was pressured to become a doctor, but the first sight of a dead body in a mortuary made him switch careers! He gave an interesting talk, explaining to the children how, as a pharmacist, he has to estimate a person's weight and height just by looking at them in order to gauge the strength of medicine they need. Pupils found it fascinating.

I wonder how many pupils will follow in  his footsteps?
